Jacques Verduin, MA Psych. is a father, community organizer, and teacher. He is the director of Insight-Out and founding director of Insight Prison Project. Insight-Out organizes initiatives within the prison system that create the personal and systemic change to transform violence and suffering into opportunities for learning and healing. Since 1996, Jacques has pioneered innovative in-prison rehabilitation programs, and has served as a catalyst for state-wide prison reform in California. Together with the thousands of prisoners he has worked with in San Quentin, he has developed a technology of transformation that effectively leads prisoners to be released as change-agents that give back to the communities they once took from.
