As part of a wise and happy life, the Buddha encourages us to cultivate skillful effort in four ways: to Prevent the arising of unwholesome mental conditions, and to Abandon them; to Cultivate the arising of wholesome mental conditions, and to Encourage them to flourish (together they form the acronym PACE). In this daylong, we will explore these cultivations, –known as the four great efforts — through guided meditations, Dharma talks, and discussion.
